"Crossing The Border" by: Ksenia Rychtycka

Book Synopsis:

Crossing the Border illuminates moments of tragedy and triumph, personal discovery and disillusionment, spotlighting characters who, in one form or another, learn to move forward with their lives.

Stymied by the lack of progress and change in post-communist Ukraine, Valeriy the artist finds he is unable to paint. Anna is a lonely woman who attends strangers' weddings to offer a curious gift. The arrival of a wayward parakeet during the 2004 Orange Revolution forces an elderly woman into action.

These nine stories-set in Ukraine, the United States and Greece-highlight universal conflicts and dilemmas, along with the uncertainties and complexities of change, and introduce a strong new voice in storytelling.

Poem: "The Bread of Life"

The Bread of Life

Who is this Bread of Life?
Jesus Christ is this Bread of Life.
A person shall never thirst or hunger by believing in this Bread of Life,
As Jesus once said in John 6:35.
This Bread of Life can do more than just get a person by in this life.
This Bread of Life can give us eternal life.
This Bread of Life can nourish us,
Strengthen us and allow us to grow and flourish,
This Bread of Life will never stale, mold, or perish.
This Bread of Life can save our souls,
This Bread of Life is more than enough for everyone
So don't worry about receiving crumbs,
So may I ask who wants some?
Some of this Bread of Life that can give us eternal life.
So who is The Bread of Life?
Jesus Christ is The Bread of Life.

Sample Poems from my Book!

All I Want Is Peace

Dear Lord Jesus,

All I ever wanted was peace
To be left alone and have peace.

Not just peace and quiet, but everlasting peace.
The kind of peace that only you can offer.

I am sick and tired of people bringing drama around me
All I want Jesus is peace.

But it seems like no matter how hard I try,
Ungodly people bring their drama around me.

Forgive them Father for their transgressions
I just want peace and no more stressing.

All I want to do is grow closer to you,
But it seems like ungodly people want to bring their drama around my way
Being a dark cloud on my sunny day.

Always negative never positive with nothing nice to say
But I pray to you Christ,
That you bring me peace on this day,
The peace that I wanted all my life.

Life Is A Journey

Life is a journey,
It has its ups and downs
Sometimes you feel afloat sometimes you feel you are about to drown.

Sometimes you feel stuck and going nowhere
Other times you feel like resting because you have been everywhere.
People can learn as they grow older
Getting to know Christ can help you become bolder.

He will teach you to fight and stand up for what’s right
Even in darkness He will be your guiding light.
Even when you do wrong, He will teach you how to do right

There are many lessons to be learned
Blessings can be received or given at anytime and don’t always have to be earned.
The truth is what everybody yearns.

Life may bring you trials and tribulations,
But knowing Christ will bring you smiles and jubilations.

Even in a spiritual desert He is the Living Water that’ll quench your thirst
He is forever at work
Ready to carry you through life on a gurney
