Interesting Bible Facts Most People Don't Know!

The bible is an incredible and powerful book. It's the Word of God. It is informative and yet can be helpful and encouraging. With that said, there are some facts in the bible unbeknownst to most people, even Christians.

(1) God loves to eat.

Although at first glance it may appear that I'm joking or trying to be funny I'm not. Did you know that the pre-incarnate Christ communed with Abraham? Genesis 18:1-8 (1) And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; (2) And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, (3) And said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: (4) Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: (5) And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. (6) And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.  (7) And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetched a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. (8) And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat." In Genesis 18, the Lord Jesus, with two angels appear before Abraham. Abraham and others prepare them a meal which they ate. Also Jesus reminds Abraham and Sarah about the promise of a child. Also Jesus lets Abraham know that Sodom and Gomorrah will be judged for its sins. The two angels carry out God's order for judgment while Jesus continues to commune with Abraham. Yes this passage says three men, but Abraham calls one of them Lord as in Lord God.

John 21:9-13: "(9) As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. (10) Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. (11) Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. (12) Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. (13) Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise." There are other passages where Christ, Son of God eats food. Remember God made us (mankind) in His own image. So should it be surprising that like God we too love to eat?

(2) The bible bans Christmas trees.

Jeremiah 10:1-5: "(1) Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: (2) Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. (3) For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. (4) They deck (decorate) it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. (5) They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go, Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good." Deuteronomy 12:2-3: "(2) Ye shall utterly destroy all the places wherein the nations ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: (3) And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place." Christians are not to use Christmas trees at all. We are not to put things under them either. It's idolatry and it mocks God and His Word. Note: Christmas is not to be celebrated by Christians either. The holiday honors Satan, not God. December 25th is not the birthdate of Christ. Whose birthday is it? Find out by reading my book "Tough Lessons from the Bible".

(3) The bible teaches righteous judgment.

There are far too many Christians that think that we are not to judge. It's because we have misinterpreted the bible. Matthew 7:1-2: "(1) Judge not, that ye be not judged. (2) For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." Matthew 7:1-5 as well as other passages on judgment Christians have misinterpreted. It doesn't mean we are to not judge at all. We are not to judge in a condemning way or based upon predjudices without having all the facts. Only God has that right because He's all-knowing (omniscient). I used to think we are not to judge until the Holy Spirit opened my eyes. John 7:24: "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." Now here we have a passage which Christ Himself is speaking. To judge righteous judgment is to speak the truth which all Christians have that right and authority. Why do you think John the Baptist was beheaded? He judged righteously by telling King Herod it was wrong of him to marry his brother's wife. Remember Stephen was stoned to death by speaking to unbelieving Jews about Christ. Do people not know that believers of Christ shall someday judge angels?

(4) Man shall someday judge angels.

Yes the bible does speak on this. 1 Corinthians 6:2-3: "(2) Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?  (3) Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?" Christians have been blinded and duped by Satan into thinking we are not to judge at all when we will judge the world and angels someday. My advice to my fellow Christians, read the bible for yourselves.

(5) Unbelievers first used the term Christian.

Acts 11:26: "And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves together with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." Contrary to what most Christians think, the term Christian first came from unbelievers. It was first used as a derogatory word referring to followers of Christ. Actually the word occurs only 3 times in the bible: Acts 11:26; Acts 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16.

(6) Enoch preached about the 2nd coming of Jesus before Noah was even born.

Jude 14-16: (14) And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, (15) To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. (16) These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage." Although Jude is a New Testament passage, Jude 14-16 is taken from the non canonical book of Enoch. Enoch came before Noah and the flood. Yet, Enoch preached about the 2nd coming of Jesus before Noah, the Ark, and the flood. Enoch preached about the 2nd coming of Christ many centuries before Christ' 1st Advent, in which he took on human flesh to die for our sins.

(7) Hell is eternal destruction.

There are some false teachings about Hell not being eternal and the fire isn't everlasting. Where are these people getting their info? Satan? Are they misguided or false prophets? Hell is eternal destruction and the fire is eternal. The bible says so. Jesus spoke on Hell Himself. Put your trust in Jesus and His bible, not man.

Matthew 13:41-42, 50: "(41) The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;  (42) And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.  (50) And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."  Matthew 25:41, 46: "(41) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:  (46) And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."

I wanted to post these verses to let the people know that Hell is eternal. The fire is everlasting as mentioned in the bible. Believers just die once, with a few exceptions like Lazarus, and others raised from the dead by Christ. Death is the separation of body from spirit. When Jesus comes back He will give His followers glorified bodies similar to His. Our bodies will rejoin with our spirits and we will be transformed with a new body. On the other hand, unbelievers, those who die rejecting Christ, will be cast into Hell. They will die the 2nd death. The second death is that the body, spirit. and soul, in other words the complete person, will be separated from God (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) forever. This is sad because Jesus created Hell for the devil and his angels (demons) as punishment for rebelling against God. To any unbeliever who wonders why God will do this. Simple God gives everyone freewill. So we have the freewill to accept His Son Jesus as Lord and Savior or to reject Him. God does not force Himself on anyone. There is a reward for believing in Christ before you die...eternal life. There is a consequence for rejecting Christ before you die....eternal destruction in Hell.

So please I ask you to open your heart and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Have a blessed day.
